Pomeranians are prone to patella luxation, heart and skin problems, eye infections, slipped stifle, and early tooth lost. Feeding dry food is necessary to keep the teeth and gums in good condition.

Pomeranians - Fragility

Some people buy a toy breed puppy without realizing how fragile a toy breed is. You can seriously injure or kill a Pomeranian pup by stepping on him or by sitting on him when it happens to be curled under a blanket. And Pomeranians can seriously injure themselves by leaping from your arms. It is dangerous to leave a Pomeranian unsupervised when a large dog is around. A larger dog can grab a Pomeranian and break its neck. Therefore, owning a toy breed means constant supervision of what is going on around your tiny dog. Pomeranians must always be kept indoors, in a safely fenced yard, or on-leash. If you cannot provide such a control, consider another breed, other than Pomeranians.
